History
Already
in the nineties Cecilia Pillado surprised the conservative classical
audience of the Berliner Philharmonie with innovative repertoire and
played recitals with Argentinian tangos, Piazzolla works and own
compositions; all this, before Kremer, Baremboim or Yo-Yo Ma came up
with their tango recordings. The Berliner newspaper Der Tagesspiegel
described Cecilia Pillado as “more
than a fashionable crossover” and was completely right: she was
a pioneer.
After her studies she startet to produce her recordings on her
own, whith the prime aim to make this repertoire known and accessible
to the public. She licensed her recordings first to “Berlin Classics”
in 1998/1999 and to “Sony Classical” in 2007, what bears witness to her
quality, but then she decided to focus on expanding her own label,
starting in 2013 with digital releases.
